Palacio de Cristal – Manzanillo (“Crystal Palace”) is named after a glass and metal structure which was built in Madrid‘s Buen Retiro Park in 1887 for the Exposition of the Philippines, then a Spanish colonial possession. The architect was Ricardo Velázquez Bosco, who was also a well-known archeologist.
The tall arches and beautiful glass walls of Palacio De Cristal are reminiscent of this Madrid architectural icon, and provide breathtaking views of Bahía de Manzanillo and the Pacific Ocean.
